Conventional mine shaft sinking involves drilling and blasting from the surface downward, installing ground support, and lining the mine shaft as it is excavated. Miller uses three fully owned shaft sinking systems to execute conventional mine shaft projects across a wide range of diameters and geological conditions. This method is preferred for larger-diameter shafts (those exceeding 24 feet) and for projects where surface access is needed before the mine level is developed.
