Project Scope:
OJI was contracted to design, supply, and install all components for a 20-ton capacity hoist, along with an additional 8-man capacity auxiliary hoist. The project scope included foundation engineering and installation, headframe design and construction, sourcing hoisting components, and the design and fabrication of service and auxiliary cages. The system was engineered to meet specific production and safety requirements.
Challenges and Accomplishments:
The unique oval shaft design required custom engineering solutions for the hoisting equipment. Coordinating with multiple contractors working on various aspects of the site posed challenges, especially given the limited space and tight schedule. Additionally, hoisting equipment had to be installed inside the building after its construction, requiring specialized rigging plans and material handling. Despite these challenges, OJI successfully delivered the system on schedule, ensuring the hoisting equipment met all production needs while upholding stringent safety standards.
